HEAVEN

I've traveled many places,
But don't ask me about the dates.
But it's been about twenty-seven countries,
And all of fifty states.
And I've visited many cites,
And I've searched many a town.
To find some place that suited me,
Some place I could settle down.
And what I found was Heaven,
At least that what it seemed to me.
'Cause it had everything I'd hoped for,
Or dreamed that it could be
First it has the deserts,
With those wide open lonesome spaces,
Where the Wind has many voices.
And the Shadows many faces.
And the many mighty rivers,
They're wild and they're rough.
And I like to pit myself against them,
Just to see if I'm that tough.
And the high majestic mountains,
So beautiful and so true.

It always gives me a warm feeling to know,
They're there for me and you.
And the people that live there,
What a good hearted friendly lot.
They'll always give you a hand when you've got trouble,
Whether you're home-grown or not.
"And where is this Place," you ask me,
"That's so shinny and so bright."
Well I guess I don't want to tell you,
Even though I know that's not right.
I guess I'm kind of selfish,
And I don't really want to share.
Cause I'm afraid it'll become over crowded,
With people that just don't care.
But I'll tell YOU my secret,
Before I pack up and go
You see,
It's the one place that God did his best work in,

That's the STATE OF IDAHO.
